Kindergarten

Kindergarten

Kindergarten is the preschool course from the age of 4 to pre-primary school.

Kindergarten programs are developmentally focused childcare programs that create environments and experiences that engage children in learning through a culture of play-based learning and inquiry rather than machine learning.

Course Overview

Children learn to communicate and understand the importance of relationships with others and their surroundings. A child’s connection to others, to the community and to the natural world is part of the realm of learning and development. Children begin to develop a sense of belonging and contribution through their relationships with family and classroom communities.

Children learn about emotions and feelings and learn to adapt to new situations. The goal is to develop an understanding of how children learn, respect themselves and others, and promote the well-being of themselves and others. This gives children a strong foundation for life.

Through play, children develop a variety of vocabulary and improve their communication skills. Play helps children think critically, respect different perspectives, and process different kinds of information, including mathematical thinking and reasoning. Children use mathematical thinking to understand the world. See and communicate patterns, spatial relationships, measurements, and quantities to others. Develop a richer vocabulary in all areas, including math, to help you confidently communicate your thoughts and reasoning.

Learning to think creatively, analytically and critically is important in every aspect of life. Children are naturally curious. By asking questions, testing theories, solving problems, and thinking creatively, they learn to understand the world around them. Through play, exploration and exploration, children develop innovative and problem-solving skills.
